PSCU reports overall credit card spend was down 32.1% for its owner credit union members during the week ending April 12.

The system, called Bioprotectus, is a new spray that lasts 90 days on surfaces and inhibits the growth of viruses.

According to PSCU, in the eight states hit hardest by the pandemic, credit card spending was down 32.1% during the week of April 5.

Experts predict contactless payments will get "a push" due to the pandemic as cash use continues to fall.

PSCU also says growth rates in credit and debit card spending at drug stores and pharmacies were flattening.
