Xtend Inc., a Grand Rapid, Mich.-based CUSO, reported Monday its Member Reach service generated more than 1.7 million messages during the final quarter of its fiscal year that ended Sept. 30.

That's up from 1.1 million messages during the same period in 2013, Scott Collins, president of Xtend, said.

The Member Reach service includes delivering messages such as e-statement notifications, targeted communications, electronic newsletters and business-to-business marketing campaigns to reinforce the cooperative brand among members.

Collins said that Xtend focused over the past year on developing e-communications services for credit union and CUSO customers, including the roll out of new e-newsletter products.

"When the team delivered metrics for our last quarter of the year, it helped validate that our customer-owners were indeed embracing these changes," he said.

Liz Winninger, Xtend's business development manager, said the CUSO added 10 clients and currently provides electronic communications to 96 credit unions on a recurring basis, as well as periodic support to nearly two dozen customers.

The CUSO is owned by 78 credit union partners and delivers a range of services to more than 180 cooperatives representing 925,000 members and $9.2 billion in assets, according to Xtend.
