The NCUA has launched Spanish versions of both its consumerwebsite, MyCreditUnion.gov, and itsfinancial literacy microsite, Pocket Cents, in recognition ofNational Hispanic Heritage Month.

“Spanish-speaking consumers are now able to navigate a wealth ofresources on NCUA's consumer websites on topics like paying forhigher education, planning for emergencies, and managing debt,”according to an agency press release issued on Thursday.

MyCreditUnion.gov and PocketCents show the public where to find a credit union to join, howcredit unions operate and how to start one.

The sites also feature two new resources that assist olderconsumers in avoiding scams and protectingtheir finances.

“During the last two decades, the number of Spanishspeakers in America has more than doubled. Today, more than 36million Americans speak Spanish at home,” said NCUA board chairmanDebbie Matz.

“It is critical that these Spanish speakers have access toreliable resources for financial information. NCUA's MyCreditUnion.govand PocketCents provide consumers with timely and practical tips toassist them on their path to financial security,” she added.
