MADISON, Wis. — World Council of Credit Unions extended its enrollment deadline for the 2008 Hispanic Marketing Immersion Program to Friday, Aug. 15.
The program offers credit union staff and executives the opportunity to work in Mexican credit unions and explore their marketing strategies. The program's goal is to give participants valuable insight into ways to reach Hispanic consumers back home through a complete cultural immersion. Dates are Sept. 20-27 for the $1,600 one-week experience and Sept. 20-Oct. 3 for the $2,600 two-week experience.
This year's program takes place in Morelia, located in Central Mexico. Local families will host participants. Participants will also serve a practical internship with either Caja Morelia-Valladolid or Caja Alianza. Through interactions with the staff, management and members, participants will learn daily Mexican credit union operations and study marketing strategies used to attract new members and promote financial products.
