There are signs across the credit union card space that credit unions are beginning to turn back to credit union owned and operated firms for solutions to their ATM, debit and credit challenges.

Five new U.S. patents has developers working on ways for consumers to remotely order cash withdrawals, transmit payments and generate electronic checks from their ATMs simply by using their cell phones, Treos and iPhones.

PSCU Financial Services, the card processing and payments CUSO for over 500 credit unions which use the First Data Corp. card platform, is rolling out a new effort that is aimed at helping member CUs develop people, as young as age 12, as CU members.

Membership in Card Services for Credit Unions, the association of credit unions that use the Fidelity National Information Systems card platform, has just made membership in the organization in 2006 free to its members.
