The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas in Bismarck, N.D., has launched a new website, cusocialgood.com, which is exclusively dedicated to posting news about the good things credit unions do for people and their communities every day.
During its awareness campaign last year, CUAD said many people outside of the credit union world are uninformed about the credit union difference and unaware of the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.”
CU Social Good, with the help of credit unions around the country, is aspiring to change that.
“Credit unions give back to their local communities in an amazing variety of creative and generous ways. Credit union employees and members are also well known for their volunteer work and charitable fundraising events,” CUAD said in a prepared statement.
“At CU Social Good, you will find these 'good news' stories of credit unions and credit union people being involved in their communities – helping charities, promoting financial literacy, providing scholarships, volunteering their time, and supporting people and planet over profit,” the association said.
What's more, CUAD is encouraging credit unions from around the country to contribute their stories.
“What is your credit union doing to help people in your community?” CUAD said. “We are asking for your input, contributions, and support to make this the one site that aggregates and creates a forum for all of the great things credit unions do each and every day.”
To submit your credit union's story, email to [email protected] or follow the link on the website home page.
This month CU Social Good began a weekly e-newsletter that will highlight five top stories of the week.
