Edwin G. Pustelnik, former president/CEO of Buffalo Fire Department FCU passed away late last month.

Both Buffalo Fire Department FCU and the larger credit union movement were lifelong priorities for Pustelnik, who began serving on the board of the credit union some 40 years ago. He then joined the credit union's staff, working his way up from a clerk to a loan officer, and eventually to its president/CEO.

When Pustelnik decided to retire, he did not go far, returning to the credit union's board of directors as its chairman. In that role, he continued to be involved in the advancement of the credit union.

Pustelnik also served on the Credit Union Association of New York's Buffalo chapter council from 1982-1988. He was elected to the association's board of directors in 1988, where he served until 1993. In 1989, Pustelnik joined the board of CUC Mortgage Corporation, serving for a number of years.
