WAUKEGAN, Ill. — Consumers Credit Union recently wrapped up its month-long grand re-opening celebration of its Washington Street branch.
The credit union unveiled the facility to the public after investing more than $1.2 million in the renovation that included the addition of state-of-the-art technology and a new look and feel to the facility.
The Waukegan branch now features innovative technology and a more spacious waiting area. The office interior includes a concave teller line, children's play area, private offices and hi-tech 46-inch televisions to provide the latest credit union information about promotions, rate specials, current events, weather, stocks and other news

"The Waukegan grand re-opening celebration was a huge success," said CCU President Sean M. Rathjen. "The new amenities and technical improvements will help us provide members with even better service than ever before. We are grateful for our members' patience and support during the remodeling process and are confident they'll love the new Waukegan office. CCU also would like to thank the City of Waukegan Police and Fire Departments for helping make this a truly memorable occasion."
To mark the occasion, CCU awarded weekly prizes during the celebration to lucky winners who stopped in to check out the newly remodeled office. The grand prize winner was Lizbeth Rivas who won a $500 VISA gift card. Other winners included Dick Chamegnik and Ferdinand Serrano each of whom won four tickets to see "Stomp" at the Genesee Theatre, along with Charles Nystrom and Dawin Castillo, who each won four tickets to Six Flags Great America.
The credit union worked closely with the City of Waukegan during the month-long celebration. The Waukegan Police Department sent McGruff the Crime Dog, while the Waukegan Fire Department conducted safety demonstrations in its Fire Safety House. Other events included appearances by all-pro kicker Robbie Gould and radio station broadcasts from popular local stations WXLC-FM, WKRS-AM and La-Lay FM.
