Dr. Juan Hernandez has released a new book entitled, The New American Pioneers: Why Are We Afraid of Mexican Immigrants? The son of a Mexican father and an American mother, Hernandez spent time growing up on both sides of the border. His book puts a passionate, realistic voice to the complex issues confronting Mexican and U.S. relations on the subject of immigration. Hernandez, founder of the Center for US-Mexico Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas and former cabinet member for Mexican President Vicente Fox, was named one of the "Smartest People We Know" when featured on the cover of Fortune Magazine, honored as "Humanitarian of the Year" by Latin Trade, listed as one of the "100 most influential Hispanics" by Hispanic Business magazine and one of the "100 most powerful Latinos" by Poder Magazine. He is a regular guest on Univision, ABC and Fox News.
