MEDFORD, Ore. – Rogue Federal Credit Union is making sure young members here have high financial literacy IQs. RFCU has been focusing on younger members since last April with the launch of its CU Succeed program, and the recent increased push has been sparked by a recent survey released at Southern Oregon University showing students do not think their high schools prepare them well enough to handle their finances. Some 667 SOU students responded to questions about income, credit card use and attitudes toward credit. Approximately 83% felt their high school did not do an adequate job. Stepping up to the challenge, RFCU will conduct a series of free financial classes for their members age 15-18 throughout the months of February and March with more seminars slated for the rest of the year.
