The $148 million, 14,500 member United Educators Credit Union in Apple Valley, Minn., has named Paul Dammann as its new president/CEO.

The suit against the $965 million Black Hills Federal Credit Union and CUNA Mutual alleging improper increases in credit life disability insurance rates was remanded Aug. 14 by the South Dakota Supreme Court back to a lower court to be tried as a class action suit.

On Aug. 16, Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signed into law H.B. 1572, which amends the states Credit Union Act to establish a fair and consistent civil penalty assessment process.
