FAIRBORN, Ohio -- Wright-Patt Credit Union Inc. recently celebrated the grand opening of its new Springfield member center.

HARTSELLE, Ala. -- Redstone Federal Credit Union set a milestone as it opened the Hartselle branch marking the credit union's 20th branch.

LAS VEGAS -- NCUA Senior Policy Advisor Gary Kohn had a bit of advice for those concerned about the future of credit unions under the Department of Treasury's Blueprint proposal: "don't lose any sleep over it."

LAS VEGAS -- Speaking this morning at NACUSO's annual conference NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland reassured attendees that the agency has safety and soundness in mind when it directs examiners to take a closer look at the third-party relationships that credit unions form to bring additional services to members.

LAS VEGAS -- It's an urging that has resonated within the industry for quite some time: "marketing like mad men" and building strong shared branching alliances are the keys to credit union survival, Peter Duffy, associate director of Sandler O'Neill & Partners, told NACUSO conference attendees yesterday.
