About 5.5 million credit union members and their nearly 15,000 employees are in south Florida or along parts of its coast under watches or warnings for Hurricane Irma's arrival expected early Sunday.

An analysis of NCUA data by CU Times shows there are 137 Florida-based credit unions with in the areas most at risk as of Saturday morning, most of them south of Lake Okeechobee. As of June 30, they had $61.5 billion in assets, 326 main offices and branches and 852 ATMs.
