The Credit Union Association of New York announced the promotion of three employees.

Allison Barna has been named vice president of member services/NYCUF and will oversee CUANY's member services team and charitable foundation, the New York Credit Union Foundation. Barna previously served as director of NYCUF/community development and has been with the organization since 2006.

Mindi Schwab was named communications director and will manage the communication strategies of CUANY, its affiliate companies and the NYCUF. Schwab previously served as communications manager and has been with the organization since 2008.

Deborah Testa was named marketing director and will lead the marketing strategies of CUANY, its affiliate companies and NYCUF. Testa previously served as marketing manager, association services, and has been with the organization since 1998.

The $2.4 billion Mid-Atlantic Corporate Federal Credit Union of Middletown, Pa., and its wholly owned CUSO, MY CU Services, named Joe Bertotto to the newly created position of chief culture officer. Bertotto will join the staff of MY CU Services, a provider of electronic payment and technology solutions.

A veteran in leadership and organization development with 25 years of experience, Bertotto will direct culture-building activities and initiatives that align with MY CU Services and Mid-Atlantic Corporate's mission, vision and values. In addition, Bertotto's training and development services have been added to MY CU Services' product offerings, which will be available to credit unions and industry partners.

SOUTH

The $1.7 billion Langley Federal Credit Union of Newport News, Va., is pleased to announce the addition of Rick Shook as assistant vice president of facilities. Shook will oversee company vehicles, facility maintenance, renovation and construction for LFCU.

Shook served as deputy project manager at the US Coast Guard TRACEN in Yorktown, Va., since 2007, overseeing maintenance and operation for all mechanical systems and equipment.

MIDWEST

The $26 million First United Credit Union of Grandville, Mich., welcomed Anna Cavazos and Heather Emperor to its expanding member service team.

A native of West Michigan, Cavazos recently moved back to the mitten state. She is fluent in Spanish, which will be an asset to her new member service position, the credit union said in a release.

Emperor has more than 10 years' experience in customer service.

WEST

Ryan Beckley has joined the $820 million Financial Partners Credit Union of Downey, Calif., as a Small Business Administration business development officer.

Beckley, formerly with PacTrust Bank, brings with him more than nine years of SBA and Commercial lending experience helping small business obtain financing. He specializes in below market, fixed-rate financing for commercial, industrial projects via the SBA 7(a) and 504 Loan Programs.

The $7 billion Security Service Federal Credit Union of San Antonio has announced the promotion of Amy Matisek to branch marketing and community relations manager for the Mountain Region. In her new role based in Colorado Springs, Colo., she will oversee member service fulfillment of marketing/sales campaigns, branch merchandising, community involvement, and brand awareness for SSFCU's 23 branches in the region.

Matisek joined the credit union in 2012, starting as a business development coordinator and later becoming a business development manager.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications with a marketing emphasis from Kansas State University.

VENDORS

The Des Moines, Iowa-based PolicyWorks, a compliance product and service provider, recently announced it has added two new employees. Jennifer Anderson was hired as compliance attorney and Tana Krumm joined the company as director of marketing and communications.

Anderson will assist credit unions with federal laws and regulations, with a focus on social media and marketing compliance. Prior to joining PolicyWorks, she worked at the Iowa Civil Rights Commission. Anderson received her law degree from Drake University Law School and undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon.

As director of marketing and communications, Krumm will oversee the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication plans. Krumm spent six years at The Members Group. She is a graduate of Drake University.
