Employees of Oklahoma credit unions and the Credit Union Association of Oklahoma lost property and had family members affected by the enormous tornado which tore through Moore, Okla., on Monday afternoon.

CUAO CEO Gary Jones said the association staff was on the phone all Tuesday morning with credit unions affected by the storm

Jones said that, at this point, it appears that only one credit union in the state, Tinker FCU, sustained property damage to its branch in Moore, but he added that the association had been told of credit unions' employees who have had property damage and had family members, including children, which were affected by the tornado.

He did not elaborate.

Currently both the CUAO and the National Credit Union Foundation are assessing damage and expect to make decisions on how to coordinate assistance later Tuesday, according to Jones and NCUF spokesman Christopher Morris.
