Friends, Friday, Aug. 3 will be my final day as publisher of Credit Union Times. The time has come to move on to new challenges and make room for the next generation of professionals.
I have enjoyed the past four-and-a-half years a great deal and been blessed with the right team in place to run the business. Mike Walker, John Wiley, Clancey Mitchell and David Janoff have supported the business through tough times and will continue to build the Credit Union Times franchise and brand.
In January 2008, when I joined CU Times, we were a print publication with a small website and very little footprint in the digital world. Oh yes, we also had a cozy little Trailblazer reception at GAC every year for about 50-60 people. As you know, we have grown into the largest credit union news site online with multiple e-newsletters, new educational tools and a social media platform that is second to none. And our cozy little Trailblazer reception has grown into one of the must-go events at GAC, hosting over 350 credit union executives in 2012.

We built these products because we listened to your feedback and developed a strategy on how and when to launch. Sarah Snell Cooke and her team of the best editorial professionals in the business have always come prepared with great ideas, and they deliver a depth of content I just don't see in other credit union publications.
I would be remiss if I did not recognize the many friends I have made in credit unions and the vendor community. Standout individuals are Stan Hollen, John San Filippo, Shawn Gilfedder, Stuart and Harriet Levine, Jim Jordan, Bill Cheney, Bob Schumacher, Larry Blanchard, Mike Yatros, Dennis Dollar and too many more to name here. They have my eternal thanks for the support and time spent discussing the issues that impact us all. I will miss meeting with you, sharing a cigar and good port and promise to stay in touch with you all.
In parting, I ask you to continue to support Credit Union Times as much as the publication supports you in providing the most accurate and reliable news available. Information is power. Use it and grow stronger.
As always, I extend my best personal regards to you all.
