Former NFL star Rocky Bleier will be the keynote speaker at NAFCU's 31st annual Credit Union Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference set for May 16-18 at the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif.
Bleier, a running back on the championship teams of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970s, will discuss how to overcome obstacles to succeed. Bleier gained fame after he was drafted after his rookie season, was wounded in Vietnam and came back to help win four Super Bowls after being told he would probably never play again.
“Rocky Bleier's account of lessons learned on the football field and battlefield is sure to help attendees gain insight on how to overcome adversity and achieve new levels of excellence,” said NAFCU President/CEO Fred Becker.
Other speakers include NCUA Board Member Michael Fryzel and Jeffrey Pratt, deputy assistant director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
New this year will be learning tracks aimed at training needs for key volunteer groups: new board members, tenured board members and supervisory committee members.
“These role-specific tracks will arm attendees with the information they need to make well-informed decisions on behalf of their credit union,” Becker said.
March 23 is the deadline for early registrations. Registration is available online.
