Market USA Federal Credit Union has promoted Executive Vice President Laura Hassan to president/CEO.

She succeeds Robert McClosky, who retired effective last Dec. 31. During his tenure, the Laurel, Md.-based credit union not only built a new headquarters but also had three successful mergers with Bi-Lo Credit Union, Epworth FCU and, most recently, National Capital FCU, which helped increase Market USA FCU's assets to nearly $100 million. The credit union also expanded its offerings to include first mortgages, investment products, courtesy overdraft, "Fresh Start Loans" and "Fresh Start Checking." Prior to joining Market USA FCU, McClosky served as CEO at Comstar FCU from 1986 to 2002.

Hassan has served as the executive vice president of Market USA FCU since January 1994. She has an MBA and graduated from CUNA Management School with Honors.
