Iowa credit unions contributed dollars and relief help to aid victims of the July 24 flooding at Lake Delhi dam and on the Maquoketa River.

For one, the $465 million DuTrac Community CU of Dubuque joined up with a gas station chain and radio DJs to support a fundraising campaign bringing in $25,000 plus eight truckloads of food and supplies in a matter of days.

"We're just thrilled and amazed at the response," said Jason Norton, senior vice president-marketing/business development. In addition to the cash donations, trucks were parked at Rainbow Oil stations to collect the supplies for distribution to residents in four eastern Iowa counties: Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson and Jones in areas which experienced record rainfall in late July.
