More than 150 members of First Community Credit Union signed up for the suburban St. Louis credit union's new mobile text banking service in the first month of its offering.

The service is powered by the MShift mobile banking platform and can be used on any SMS-enabled phone to check balances and recent transactions, the $1.6 billion credit union said.

First Community already was offering browser-based mobile banking and said it plans to add an iPhone application soon.
