CUES has tapped nine industry experts as advisers to the new Center for Credit Union Board Excellence.
The center, which is under development and set to launch June 7, will offer online resources for credit union volunteers, while supporting their mission to effectively govern and meet the challenges facing credit unions today.
"We've got a perfect mix of representatives. They are smart, savvy and understand governance-they will help us raise the bar on director education. By selecting members from three areas-academia, financial services and expert advisers-we are creating a resource that is rigorous but practical," said Dale Schumacher, CUES chairman and Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union president/CEO.

The steering committee members are John Coffey, Fairwinds Credit Union board chairman; Eric Craymer, Growth Management Consulting president; Michael G. Daigneault, BoardSource senior governance consultant; Dennis Dollar, Dollar Associates principal partner; Brenda Haines, CitizensFirst Credit Union board chairman; Michael L'Ecuyer, Bellwether Community Credit Union president/CEO; Philippe Ouellette Jr., Citadel Federal Credit Union board chairman; Richard C. Powers, associate dean and executive director of the University of Toronto; and Howard A. Williams, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union board vice chairman.
