Service Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., announced the appointment of William Arnold as chief information officer. Arnold comes to the credit union with more than 15 years of experience in the technology industry, including nine years at Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union in Indiana. The credit union also announced the promotion of Bill Newman to the executive vice president. Newman joined the credit union management team in 1999 and most recently served as the credit union's chief operations officer. He possesses more than 35 years of experience in the information technology and financial fields.

Credit Union Executives Society, Birmingham, Ala., announced its elected board members for its Alabama chapter. Sonja H. Purvis was named chairman. Jan Bias and Stanton Davis were both elected to vice-chairman positions. Debbie Huff and Sandra Stenger were named treasurer and secretary, respectively.

SAFE Credit Union, Sacramento, Calif., announced that Senior Mortgage Officer Lindsey Newell received an award for volunteer of the year and West Sacramento Branch Manager Eric Rawlings was awarded ambassador of the year by the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and the City of West Sacramento. In addition to receiving awards from the Chamber of Commerce, both received awards from state Sen. Lois Wolk, the state Senate, and the state House of Representatives.

Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Phoenix, announced the appointment of two new executives to the senior management team. Gary Sneed was hired as the new vice president and chief lending officer. Earl Young was chosen to fill the newly created senior management position of vice president and chief risk officer. Sneed has more than 30 years of lending experience, most recently as regional vice president for Amtrust Bank. He graduated with a degree in finance and accounting from Lake Erie College. Young joins the credit union from Connecticut, where his 20-year career includes senior management posts with American Savings Bank, People's Savings Bank & Trust and Centerbank. He is a graduate of Southern Connecticut University and earned an MBA from the University of New Haven.

Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union, Sioux Falls, S.D., announced the appointment of Julie Carlson as branch manager of its new Arrowhead branch. Carlson brings to the credit union over 25 years of experience in the Sioux Falls financial services industry.

Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Phoenix, announced the promotions of six employees. Lee Brice was promoted to senior vice president, strategic direction and operations. Jim Lavery was promoted to vice president contact center operations. Jennifer Godel was promoted to vice president, HR, training & development and quality. Gary Laieski was promoted to vice president/chief information officer. Ann Prettyman was promoted to assistant vice president, accounting/payroll. Stephen Jordan was promoted to assistant vice president, finance/secondary marketing.

Elevations Credit Union, Boulder, Colo., announced that Gerry Agnes, president/CEO was appointed to the board of managers with the Credit Union Service Network Corporation. The CUSN provides cooperative shared branching services to credit unions and their members nationwide.

MIDWEST

Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union, Klamath Falls, Ore., announced employees in its new Klamath branch. The new branch manager is Char Paradis. She joined the credit union in 2007 as a loan officer and was promoted to lead the new branch. Janelle Brookshire is the loan officer and has been with the credit union since 2009. Saundra Weaver is a teller and has been a teller with Pacific Crest since 2004. Angela Fuller is also a teller and has been with the credit union since 2002. Carri Steffey is a teller at the main branch and is helping to fill in at the new branch.

Primary Financial Company LLC, Westerville, Ohio, announced the appointment of Mike Lee, vice president, member relations, Midwest region, Member's United Federal Credit Union, as its newest board member. Lee replaces Lew Lambert, who had served on the board since 2003 and was the board chair at the time of his retirement. Lee has more than 25 years financial services experience. Previous to his current position with the credit union, Lee served as senior vice president of sales for Corporate Network eCom and senior vice president of marketing and member services at U.S. Central Credit Union.
