Gen Y Not on Some CUs' Radar
The latest results from the Credit Union Times online voting poll showed that while there are many credit unions that are working to attract Gen Y members, there are some credit union's that aren't.
Thirty-three percent of respondents said that they are very much trying to attract Gen Y members. Twenty-seven percent of voters said they are doing some things to attract young members.

But 27% of voters also said they are not working to attract Gen Y members. Six percent said they aren't working to attract Gen Y members right now, but they are planning to. And 5% said they don't know if their credit union is working to attract Gen Y members.

Just like consumers have learned to budget and save over the past year, credit unions have had to learn to cut back and figure out how to live without certain things.
The first things on many credit union executives' lists to cut have been conferences and travel. Some vendors and associations have adapted by cutting back on certain conferences or offering Webinars in place of meetings and conferences.
