First Credit Union, Chandler, Ariz., held a canned food drive to celebrate International Credit Union Day. The food donations went to local food banks. The credit union also invited the community to join them in celebrating with refreshments.
North Jersey Federal Credit Union, Totowa, N.J., hosted several events to celebrate International Credit Union Day. During the day the credit union handed out goodie bags and other items to employees and members to show their appreciation. At night it held tours of their "Green Machine." The Green Machine is a custom-built, environmental-friendly mobile bank equipped with an ATM, two teller windows, and two loan officers. The celebration ended with the introduction of the credit union's new chief operating officer, Richard Bzdek.
Saugus Federal Credit Union, Saugus, Mass., celebrated International Credit Union Day by holding a free homebuyer workshop for all potential homebuyers. The workshop featured a panel of experts involved in all phases of the home-buying process, from finding the right home to financing options, home inspection, home insurance and the closing process. The credit union also provided snacks and giveaways to its members throughout the day.

Redwood Credit Union, Santa Rosa, Calif., held free financial education seminars for young people to celebrate International Credit Union Day. Free one-on-one financial counseling sessions were also provided. The credit union also had a coloring contest for children, a $100 member raffle and giveaways.
Northeast Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., joined credit unions around the world by celebrating International Credit Union Day. NECU invited members of the community to visit a branch for complimentary snacks and refreshments.
Topeka Credit Union Foundation, Topeka, Kan., held the sixth annual benefactor's breakfast during International Credit Union Week. The breakfast included the presentation of this year's contributions, totaling $8000, to several local charities. The recipients were the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas, TARC, the Alzheimer's Association-Heart of America Chapter and the Foster Grandparent Program of Northeast Kansas.
Blackhawk Community Credit Union, Janesville, Wis., celebrated Member Appreciation Week during International Credit Union Week. The credit union thanked its members by providing them with complimentary refreshments and holding a raffle to win free hockey tickets.
Atlanta Postal Credit Union, Atlanta, decorated their branches with "Your Money. Your Choice. Your Credit Union" themed posters and balloons to celebrate International Credit Union Day. Each branch offered a variety of refreshments. Some offered cookies, while others made punch and served hot dogs.
