Reflective of the push to cut conference and travel expense, three East Coast leagues disclosed that they are considering a joint annual conference in 2011 shedding stand-alone conventions.

The board of the Credit Union Association of New York has already approved the concept of a tri-league convention with the New Jersey Credit Union League and the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association also studying the proposal put forward among league CEOs last August.

"Our members are working hard at cutting costs in this kind of economy and it is only natural and logical that we do the same," said William Mellin, president/CEO of CUANY.
