Kinecta Federal Credit Union going green is more than just a statement. Through Sept. 30, the credit union will make a donation to have a tree planted in the Brazilian rain forest every time a member converts from paper statements to electronic statements. "Switching from paper to e-statements makes sense for consumers and for the organization," said Kinecta Director of Marketing/eCommerce Shannon Doiron. "Not only do we eliminate the paper, we also save money, which in turn benefits the members through better rates and enhanced products and services. It's a classic win-win." Kinecta's goal for the campaign, "You save a statement. We plant a tree," is to donate 1,000 trees through the Nature Conservancy. The move is designed to demonstrate the credit union's commitment to being a green organization while showing members that even the smallest step can make a positive global impact.
