Frank Michael, president/CEO of Allied Credit Union and Ed Templeton, president/CEO of SRP Federal Credit Union are scheduled to testify at a Senate hearing on Wednesday discussing the impact of the nation's economic woes on financial institutions in rural communities.

Michael, whose credit union is in Stockton, Calif., is testifying on behalf of CUNA. Templeton, whose credit union is in North Augusta, S.C., is testifying on behalf of NAFCU.

There will also be representatives of the American Bankers Association, the Independent Community Bankers of America, and the Community Reinvestment Association.

The hearing, "The Effects of the Economic Crisis on Community Banks and Credit Unions in Rural Communities," is being held by the Senate Banking Committee's Subcommittee on Financial Institutions.
