I chose Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union, Clarksville, Tenn., as my financial institution of choice because of its low interest rates, higher than average dividends and excellent service. It never dawned on me to receive other than that.
Imagine my pleasant surprise to have received a portion of the nearly $5 million disbursed as a patronage dividend in each of the past four years by Fort Campbell Federal.
Having a say on who directs the credit union, an open line of communication to both management and the board of directors is democracy at work. The patronage dividends I received was icing on an already sumptuous cake.
