Florida Commerce Credit Union announced that its chief financial officer has been appointed as the credit union's new CEO.Cecilia D. Homison joined Florida Commerce in 2000 as chief financial officer and replaced long-time CEO Ron Fye, who is retiring.Prior to coming to Florida Commerce, Homison held positions of assistant vice president controller, vice president finance, senior vice president finance/controller and chief operations officer at Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union in South Carolina."Cecilia brings a successful track record and wealth of industry knowledge as the new leader of Florida Commerce," said J.R. Phelps, board chairman. "She is committed to providing the highest level of personal financial service to our members and the community."Homison said that one of her immediate goals as CEO is to increase credit union resources for small business owners."Given today's economic climate, it is critical that Florida Commerce establishes itself as a lifeline to the business community. We have already broadened our services to meet the needs of our members with our financial fitness program. Now, we are increasing our level of commitment to our commercial members with new products and services to help meet their needs."In addition to her work at Florida Commerce, Homison teaches applied economics to local high school students through the Junior Achievement program sponsored by the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship. She also is past chair of the Killearn United Methodist Church Council and co-chair of the Killearn United Methodist Church Marriage Ministry.Florida Commerce has $300 million in assets, 36,000 members, seven branches and 150 employees.–[email protected]
