ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Credit union executives interested in learning more about the government's new regulations on credit cards can participate in an audio briefing on Feb. 24 that the NCUA is sponsoring with the Federal Reserve Board and the Office of Thrift Supervision.
During the two-hour session, representatives from all three regulatory agencies will discuss aspects of the regulations, which are designed to provide consumers with a reasonable time to pay credit card bills, fairly allocate payments to balances with different interest rates, establish certain restrictions on increasing interest rates, ban double-cycle billing, and limit the fees charged for opening an account.
Moisette Green of NCUA is one of the scheduled speakers as are April Breslaw of the Office of Thrift Supervision and Benjamin Olson of the Federal Reserve Board.
