ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — PSCU Financial Services, the payments CUSO serving at least 500 credit unions who process their credit and debit cards on the First Data Corp., is reaching out to credit unions in Texas that are still suffering the effects of Hurricane Ike.
"We've tried various ways to reach them all but a number of them are still offline so we are trying spread the word as broadly as possible," explained Merry Pateuk, spokesman for the CUSO.
In a short letter from PSCU CEO David Serlo, the CUSO said it was extending its network and services free of charge to credit unions impacted by the storm.

"The combination of our experience in remote/business continuity solutions as well as our integration with the Shared Branching Networks and loan origination systems can equip credit unions to support their members during this disaster," the letter said.
PSCU said it has designated Howard Hoemann from Digital Dialogue as the point person for this effort and that Hoemann can be reached at 636-273-6778 or [email protected]. Hoemann will work with credit unions to establish the necessary set up procedures, the letter said.
