WARRENVILLE, Ill. — NCUA Vice Chairman Rodney Hood brought staff members of Members United Corporate Credit Union up to date on the agency's activities during a breakfast meeting on Aug. 6.

Hood talked about the necessity for NCUA and the industry to proactively address risk mitigation issues. He said credit unions need to have regulatory flexibility to manage their balance sheets to respond to the challenges of today's economic difficulties. He reiterated that safety and soundness and consumer empowerment are closely related.

"This was a great opportunity to share Members United's strategic direction and objectives with Vice Chairman Hood," noted David A. Preter, president of Members United. "We are very grateful Mr. Hood made time in his schedule to tour our facility and learn more about our credit union-centric operations."
