NASHVILE, Tenn. — Volunteer Corporate's Aug. 21 annual meeting was a far cry from the serious and somber affair you might expect following a failed merger with Western Corporate almost one year ago.

As of Dec. 31, 2007, assets were nearly $1.3 billion, up $162 million from last year. Member shares were also up, from $960,224 at year-end 2006 to $1.14 billion. VolCorp also gained more than $3 million in capital during 2007. The corporate did not lose a single member throughout the entire merger ordeal.
