Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Bethpage, N.Y., announced that its President/CEO Kirk Kordeleski was the honoree at the Mentoring Partnership of Long Island 12th annual benefit entitled Making Connections. Kordeleski was honored due to his contributions to Long Island communities and their young people.

Clearview Federal Credit Union, Pittsburg, was awarded the gold readers' choice award for favorite credit union the west region of Pittsburgh from The Pittsburgh Tribune Review and Gateway Newspapers. This is the fourth year in a row that Clearview has won the award. This year, Clearview also won a silver medal ward for the best mortgage broker category and a silver medal award for best credit union in the north region of Pittsburgh where the Sewickley branch recently opened. Clearview celebrated the award with a casual day and a pizza luncheon.

The New York State Credit Union League, Latham, N.Y., was honored with two diamond awards by CUNA's Marketing and Business Development Council for its marketing achievements. The league received a merit award in the non-agency/association community/PR program category for the New York Credit Union Foundation's Who Are You? Identity Thieves Really Want to Know campaign. The league won its second merit award in the non-agency/credit union association/league or CUSO marketing campaign category for CUC Mortgage's Want a Quarter Percent Off of Your New Mortgage? program. Both were business to consumer campaigns.

EECU-A Community Credit Union
, Jackson, Mich., was honored at the 2008 MCUL marketing conference for receiving a first place Michigan marketing award for Web site marketing. EECU received a first place award for their total Web site concept developed to promote the credit union to current and prospective members. All entries were judged by a mix of credit union marketers and other marketing professionals familiar with the credit union industry.

Truliant Federal Credit Union, Winston-Salem, N.C., announced that its Director of Community Services Marjorie Rorie was the recipient of the 2008 women of vision awards from the YWCA of Winton-Salem. Rorie designs and implements strategies to reach new and existing members such as financial literacy workshops, scholarship and grant programs, new products and promotions, and advertising and sponsorships.

MidSouth Federal Credit Union, Macon, Ga., honored its Hartley Bridge Road branch employees at a reception with the branch of the year award. All six MidSouth branches were up for the award and were compared by community involvement, member service and interdepartmental teamwork.

CFE Federal Credit Union, Lake Mary, Fla., was presented with the cultural diversity award during the 6th annual onyx awards presentation. CFE was recognized for its commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplaces, as well as its involvement in the African-American, Hispanic and Asian communities. A 90-second video displaying the credit union's community activities was shown during the ceremony.

VINtek, Philadelphia, a provider of automotive collateral management services for banks, credit unions and other automotive finance lenders announced that it received the 2007 business partnership excellence award from Digital Federal Credit Union. This year was the third year in a row that VINtek received this distinction from Digital.


Delaware Credit Union League
, New Castle, Del., gave out several awards at its 50th annual meeting. Verle Carter of Louviers Federal Credit Union in Newark and Bob Seaberg of Del-One Federal Credit Union in Dover were awarded the league's outstanding credit union volunteer awards. Joe Sisofo, manager of Wilmington Police and Fire Federal Credit Union, received the 2007 credit union professional award. In a special presentation, Edwin Grebe was the recipient of an award recognizing that he was one of the original signers of the Delaware Credit Union League charter 50 years ago and is still active as the manager of the Newark, Delaware City Employees Federal Credit Union.

Resource One Credit Union, Farmers Branch, Texas, announced that its Director of Business Development Philip Croker was awarded the FOCUS award by the Texas Credit Union Foundation. The FOCUS award program was created two years ago to honor credit unions and credit union leaders that exemplify a sincere commitment to financial education. Crocker developed a series of formalized financial literacy classes and helped launch a comprehensive financial literacy outreach program to credit union staff, members and public schools as wells as at Eastfield Community College, three local nonprofit groups and two churches.
