PHOENIX — There is a “Miracle Maker” at Desert Schools Federal Credit Union.
Desert Schools FCU Senior Vice President Ron Amstutz has recently received the Credit Unions for Kids Miracle Maker Award from the Children's Miracle Network.
Amstutz received the award for his tireless efforts as the driving force behind major fundraising efforts for the Phoenix Children's Hospital's, “1 Darn Cool School,” an on-site classroom facility that benefits long-term patients.
In 2007, the credit union's members, employees and sponsors contributed $340,000 to Phoenix Children's Hospital. The funds are raised through a variety of events all year from an annual golf tournament and branch change drives to an employee BBQ, Bowl-a-Thon and online donations.
Desert Schools is the top credit union in the nation for funds raised for the Children's Miracle Network raising more than $1.5 million since 1998.
