FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A popular 70-year-old football coach, fired from his college job last fall after some losing seasons is the new “Norlarco” face in Fort Collins at Public Service Credit Union.

“This is great to be out in the community interacting with people and involved with helping to motivate young people, ” declared Sonny Lubick, hired a month ago by Public Service CU as vice president of community outreach and public relations with offices in a branch of Public Service CU. The facility is a former office of the now defunct Norlarco CU, taken over by Public Service CU in February under an NCUA purchase & assumption deal.

Lubick said he has already been on a fast-track speaking to civic and school groups on motivation topics. A week ago he addressed a booster club Hall of Fame dinner of Columbine High School.

“We believe Sonny will be of great help and counsel to us as we go forward with our social and community efforts in Fort Collins,” said David Maus, president/CEO of PSCU.

Lubick, who is working part-time, “will be a full-fledged staff member and help us put together the game plan” in addition to executing it, said Maus adding Lubick's “knack for recognizing and developing local Colorado strength makes him a wonderful partner for the credit union.”
