BOULDER, Colo. — Elevations Credit Union, which lost its president/CEO, William Sterner Monday following a heart attack, said Friday it has named Evelyn Polando, chief operating officer, as interim CEO while a search is underway for a permanent successor.
"Evelyn has worked closely with the Board for many years and I have complete confidence in her leadership abilities and understanding of credit union operations," said Lynn Walloch, chairman of the $800 million CU, in a statement.
Polando with 38 years of industry experience joined Elevations as vice president of operations in 1999 and was named COO two years later. Prior to that time, Polando was vice president of installation at Summit Information Systems, a Fiserv unit.

Separately, Elevations said it has changed the Boulder funeral site for Sterner's services on Saturday in addition to changing the time. The services will be held at 3:30 instead of 3:00 at the 1st United Methodist Church, 1421 Spruce St., instead of the Crist Mortuary the previous location. Crist Mortuary is handling arrangements. Visitation is at 2 p.m.
