BOISE, Idaho — The wife of Idaho Governor C. L. Otter is becoming a TV pitchwoman on education for the Idaho League of Credit Unions next month.

"We're delighted our First Lady agreed to be our spokeswoman for commercials to appear on TV and radio on behalf of our NEFE program," said LaRaye O'Brien, communications specialist for the league making reference to the National Endowment for Financial Education literacy projects undertaken across Idaho high schools this year.

Lori Otter, a former teacher, will appear in a series of league radio and TV ads discussing the need for financial education in schools and mentioning CU efforts in that area. The league has been getting a higher profile for its NEFE programs recently following presentations in separate meetings before Idaho House and Senate education committees focusing on getting more school board involvement in literacy.

O'Brien said the league/NEFE ads will be broadcast starting April 14. Funds for the league literacy project come in part from grants of the National Credit Union Foundation.
