LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. — Michigan First Credit Union is looking to help foster future leaders.
The credit union is sponsoring Wayne State University, Detroit Public Television, and Southfield Library, in efforts designed to help create the leaders of tomorrow through a weekly "Leaders on Leadership" series. During the month of March, Southfield Library and Michigan First will host a lunch-and-learn series every Wednesday from 12:00- 1:15 p.m., featuring guest speakers who exemplify leadership.
Designed to inspire and guide young leaders by exposing the character, drive, and ambitions of current leadership personalities, the series will feature such guest speakers as TAG Holdings CEO/Chairman Joseph B. Anderson, Statfold Festival of Canada General Director Antoni Cimolino, Steelcase Inc. President/CEO James P. Hackett and Retired President of First Independence Bank in Detroit Kathy Bledsoe.

"We are making an investment in creating the next generation of Michigan leaders," said Michigan First CU President/CEO Michael Poulos. "There is an amazing level of insight you can gain by sitting down with a successful leader, learning about their experiences and finding out what they did to get where they are today."
The lunch-and-learns are held in association with the Emmy award-winning "Leaders on Leadership" weekly television series featuring interviews with chief executives, and hosted by Larry Fobes, director of the Wayne State University business school's Institute for Organizational and Industrial Competitiveness.
The program is taped at the Detroit Public TV's New Center Area studios before an audience of students from Wayne State. It airs Sunday's at 1:00 p.m. and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. on WTVS Channel 56.
