INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Credit Union League said last week its foundation has now secured blanket TV coverage for the BizKid$ financial literacy show on all eight public broadcasting stations in the state, with most stations starting to broadcast the show in January.

In a staggered schedule, the show was being aired on stations in Indianapolis, Muncie, Bloomington, Evansville, South Bend/Elkhart, Merrillville, Fort Wayne and Vincennes.

"To be part of the group that is bringing quality programming with a financial focus to young people across the country is exciting," said Barbara Berghoff, chairman of the Indiana Credit Union Foundation and president/CEO of PROFED CU, Fort Wayne. "And to help bring the show to viewers throughout the state of Indiana on behalf of our state's credit unions is tremendous."

At the state level, the foundation has provided a sponsorship/underwriting grant so the episodes can be aired on the stations and as part of the underwriting, two different 15-second ads will run adjacent to the shows in each market.

The spots, said the league, are edited versions of the "Quick" and "So" educational ads produced by CUNA several years ago. In addition to running the 15-second spots, stations will offer "tune in" promotional mentions with some stations putting information on their Web sites, running ads in printed program guides, and promoting the show in other ways locally.

The Indiana foundation is one of dozens of national sponsors that helped produce 26 episodes of the show coordinated by the Washington Credit Union League and funded in large part by the National Credit Union Foundation.
