SAN ANTONIO — To mark its 75th Anniversary, Firstmark Credit Union is paying tribute to its roots and the arts.
The credit union has commissioned two local San Antonio artists to create a mural for its new Bandera Road branch.
Local artists Conni Brenner and Wendy Carter of Artvarks, Studios Inc. of Bulverde, Texas created the 4′ x 12″ acrylic mural reflecting the credit union's San Antonio roots and its commitment to education and family.

The painting depicts Mission San Jose as it was in the 1930s with a woman and child in the forefront, invoking a sense of family and learning. Native Texas trees, shrubs, plants, and wild flowers are prominently featured and add color to the mural.
"The Bandera branch's vivid mural adds not only color and warmth to the lobby, it embodies the culture of the credit union," said Firstmark CU President/CEO Leon Ewing. "Our heritage is here in San Antonio, where the credit union was established 75 years ago. While times have changed, we remain committed to serving the financial needs of our member-owners and their families."
