ARLINGTON, Va. — The North Carolina Credit Union Divisionrecently received re-accreditation from NASCUS, the groupannounced.

“The significance of North Carolina's re-accreditation affirmsthat our agency has good policies and procedures in place tomonitor the safety and soundness of the credit unions that weregulate,” NCCUD Administrator Jerrie J. Lattimore commented.“NCCUD has excellent examiner retention and re-accreditationconfirms that they are working in a professional environment andthat their work can be quantified as beneficial to the public.”

The NCCUD supervises 73 state-chartered natural person creditunions and one corporate, totaling more than $15 billion in assets.The agency was first accredited in 1992 and this is its fourthconsecutive re-accreditation.

“The most valuable aspect of the re-accreditation process isthat we reexamine every aspect of our Division to confirm that weare ensuring the high standards required by the accreditationteams,” Lattimore said. “The entire re-accreditation process keepsus up to date and constantly examining what we do and how we doit.”
