SAVANNAH, Ga. — Attendees traveling here yesterday and today for Georgia Credit Union Affiliates' annual convention, were greeted by a haze of smoke lingering over the city.
The smoke, which is coming from the forest fires burning in South Georgia and North Florida, also made its way up to Atlanta yesterday. Meanwhile, GCUA pressed forward this morning conducting annual business meetings for Georgia Central Credit Union, Georgia Credit Union Foundation, Cooperative Services Inc., and the league itself.
This afternoon, Mark Meyer, executive director and CEO of the Filene Research Institute, will speak on strategies for membership and asset growth in the emerging consumer market. Just as timely, protecting member information will be discussed during a presentation from Joe Soenskin, CEO of PIVOT Group.
