There's nothing worse for an editor than seeing the same exact letter to the editor or opinion piece in another publication.
For the record, Credit Union Times only accepts original, exclusive letters and opinions. Fortunately, most of our good contacts understand that, but every once in awhile one sneaks through.
Most of the time it's not intentional. In a recent case one reader was so fired up they sent off a sternly-worded letter to the editor to numerous credit union publications.

With all due respect, for those who want to do that, please leave us off the list. We pride ourselves on our many exclusive stories, and we don't want letters or opinion pieces to be the exception. Better yet, instead of leaving us off the list, only send it to us–where else are you going to get your message in front of more credit union leaders than Credit Union Times?
