WASHINGTON — CUNA is pushing to boost its Project Zip Code participation beyond the already 60 million credit union members identified with its first ever Project Zip Code Month.

"April kicks off our first ever project zip code month," CUNA Senior Vice President of Political Affairs Richard Gose stated. The aim is to get more credit unions involved and remind those who have not run the program in a while to update their numbers at least twice a year. He added that enhancements have been made for ease of operation and reporting.

Gose explained that various advertisements and newsletters will be running, targeting credit union management to encourage participation. "This is an effort to elevate project zip code in the minds of credit union CEOs. This is an extremely effective tool both with state and federal lawmakers…It does make an impact on lawmakers when they do see the concentration of credit union members in their district," he emphasized.
