WASHINGTON — As CUNA's Feb. 25-28 Governmental Affairs Conference draws near, the speaker list is growing by leaps and bounds.

Just last week, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.), and SBA Administrator Steven Preston joined the ranks.

Previously announced congressional speakers included House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.), Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.), Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act co-author Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.), Senator Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), and Utah Congressman Rob Bishop (R).

From the executive branch, Treasurer Anna Escobedo Cabral has agreed to address the expected 4,000 credit union executives and officials, as have all three NCUA Board members.

Fox News' Brit Hume of Special Report with Brit Hume, The West Wing's Martin Sheen, Washington Post personal finance columnist Michelle Singletary, and political guru odd couple James Carville and Mary Matalin are also slated to take the stage.
