WASHINGTON — According to the latest data from the Small Business Administration, the average loan amount for credit unions participating in the agency's loan programs is $96,718.91 As of Sept. 30, there are 310 credit unions participating in SBA's 7(a) lending program. The $1.8 billion Mountain America Credit Union continues to top the list of credit union lenders, according to the agency. The $3.5 billion America First Credit Union, $601 million Telesis Community Credit Union, $6.6 billion BECU and $284 million Coastway Credit Union round out the top five SBA credit union lenders in the country. The list of lenders here only includes those that originated loans during SBA's fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30.
