PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Northeast Credit Union hopes teens pick up a new Student Checking Plus financial package on their way back to school.

The free financial package specifically designed to help busy high school and college students manage their money while away from home includes special benefits such as free online banking and bill payment, a no-annual-fee Visa debit card and credit card, free standard checks, surcharge-free access to a nationwide network of ATMs, five free foreign ATM transactions per month, no minimum balance requirement and no monthly maintenance fees.

"Students have enough to worry about when they start school," said Northeast CU Vice President of Operations Robert Wester. "Our Student Checking Plus financial package makes it easy for them to access and manage their money from wherever they attend school. As these young adults look to their parents for key financial advice, we want parents to know we have the products and services that can help their students establish good credit at an early age.
