COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Academy Federal Credit Union Member Relations Specialist Marlena Whitt has been singled out by the Colorado Springs Business Journal as one of Colorado Springs' Rising Stars. Whitt is one of 21 Colorado Springs business professionals under the age of 40 being recognized for their professional success and community involvement. A graduate of Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, she is primarily responsible for planning, coordinating, and developing AAFCU's financial literacy program for grades K-12, Art Scholarship Awards program, Youth Development program, High School Branch program and Member Education. Whitt is also actively involved in the community as a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Fountain Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Springs District 11 Art Board, the Colorado Springs School's Basketball Program, 947th Family Readiness Group – Engineer Company at Fort Carson, Military Ministry at New Life Church, and the Little Village Community Development Corporation. Whitt will be honored at an awards banquet on April 20.
