VENTURA, Calif. – While consumers here cheer their 2006 Winter Olympics favorites on local NBC-owned channels they will also get an introduction to Ventura County Credit Union. The credit union has launched a yearlong “Get Fit” campaign that plays up the idea that VCCU can help people get their finances in shape while providing greater value than the competition. To kick off the campaign a 30-second spot airing during the games will not only highlight the `sun and fun’ that makes Ventura a great place to live, but also point out that “Fitness begins at home” to promote the VCCU home equity line of credit special introductory rate. “Homeowners are a key part of our target audience, so this product was a perfect fit at the perfect time. We wanted a big kickoff and jumped at the chance to launch during one of the world’s premier sporting events,” said VCCU Vice President of Marketing/Business Development Elizabeth Carr. VCCU is also offering viewers a chance to drive away with a Honda Fit, an all-new, fuel-efficient vehicle rolling out in spring during its “Get Fit” sweepstakes. The TV spot is the first element of a multi-channel campaign, which includes outdoor advertising, radio and newspapers that will target current and potential members in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. The “Get Fit” spot and support campaign was created, developed and produced by Anaheim, California-based credit union marketing specialists Aubrey & Associates.
